OAKE
Debut LP on Downwards Records. A dive into the profoundness of poetic, thrilling industrial soundscapes.

Winter is coming
Undoubtedly the best season to welcome an album like Auferstehung. Released on Downwards Records—the 20-year-old British industrial techno label known for its edge to post-punk and dark music—this album marked OAKE's definitive arrival.
While mystery surrounds the act, the sound is distinct: a dense, atmospheric compound of dark ambient, ethereal percussion, and dronish style.
"OAKE's music is easily placed on the experimental axis formed by Downwards and Blackest Ever Black. The Berlin duo's music proceeds with the same funereal elegance as Raime's." — Resident Advisor
The Sound
The album consists of eleven mesmerising tracks that blur the boundaries between industrial atmospheres and dancefloor functionality. It swarms with plunging basslines born at a point where jungle, dubstep, and drone collide.
Unlike pure brutality, OAKE prefers soft power. Seismic beats come blanketed in foggy ambience, and Konstanze Bathseba Zippora's otherworldly vocals evoke the ethereal beauty of Cocteau Twins or Julee Cruise, creating a "deliciously ominous black diamond."
